My Editing Blog

Image
My Editing Blog Everything overall was kind of tough. We only had 30 seconds. I took over 30 clips of my actors just skating. I've edited before so this platform wasn't new. The platform I used to edit was Clipchamp. Overall I like how smooth the program is for me personally and makes editing easier in my opinion. I've worked on my interview with my partner and I was our main editor. For editing I liked adding effects, therefore, I enjoy it. It wasn't a long process at all. It was more of just me thinking about what I wanted to do. I've gotten a better feel for editing overall.  I'm confident to say I'm good at adding effects and I even was able to help my friend out edit her video. The most time-consuming thing about it was pretty much is looking through the clips and seeing which ones fit the best and run the smoothest. I didn't really use any transitions because I was looking for a more cut up look. I added some filters to make my Video film look mor...

Filming Blog:

Image
Film blog      I started filming for my commercial on October 27. I finished filming all on the same day. It was a lot of skating for me and my actors but it was still very fun. I started filming ahead of schedule I asked my actors when I first heard about this commercial. We all set a date and while I had a broad idea filming isn't always as expected. I tried to keep to my storyboard but some parts I had to scrap. While filming I ran into some trouble with overall angles. When skating my actors had some trouble with either landing tricks or timing it outright. A lot of the shots I either had to skate with them to get. While some a sat still. My phone also died during the shooting which was my main source of filing. We also were using an attachable fish lens. While the effect was nice we had some difficulties getting up.  Overall while filming I had to improvise a lot. Yet this helped my clips become even better. My areal shot at the end was improvised yet sur...

Storyboard

Image
StoryBoard My first clip was pretty much showing a close up of the vans. I did this because I wanted my viewer to see the shoe up close and personal. The shoes are beaten up and very worn. Showing they really are used by my actor. The second clip is just essentially showing them in use. While the shoe is durable we needed to show the viewer what the shoe really goes through with my first actor Juan T. We see him just doing basic riding as we zoom in on his shoes. This helps perceive the image of not just the shoe but this low angle shows the real ideal of riding in vans.  My next scene features another skater Juan D. He ties his vans. This pair is different from the other style-wise it's the very well known, "Old Skool" shoe. We then see another low angle pan of him doing a manual skate trick. The same thing with the next clip yet instead you see him doing a front manual. Both tricks hard but we see the vans high performance. While keeping its grip on the board. Then afte...

Commercial Conventions

Image
Commercial Conventions       I will be filming a skating commercial. Predominately the shoe vans.  My skate commercials will be highlighting the shoes and also other clothes involved. Vans was created on March, 16th 1966. Vans revolutionized skating and their logo blew up in ‘77. We see it even now in 2020. Personally, vans were the first shoe I skated in. I still skate vans to this day.  In these commercials, we see usually skaters in skate parks doing tricks. Sweaty and they usually have a beat-up ascetic. The type of clothes we see is streetwear. Basic T-shirts mostly jeans. Usually dickies and other works of basic clothes are worn rather than active or workout wear. Vans known logo “Off the wall” is usually seen on their mechanized. Some angles we usually see features are as follows. Close-ups, tilted, low angles, knee angles, and low angles. Some props would be a skateboard, sometimes knee pads, a helmet, and the vans. You always see some type of known...
