Short film (Upstairs)
Upstairs - Thriller Short Film
The acting was honestly not really that good. So the like plot was that this girl was going on an interview. And her upstairs neighbors were very loud. Yet the interviewer would heave and she would hear noises. Then he would get up and she would hear more. She then asks to go to the bathroom and she notices the same building behind her and also behind him and she sees blood dripping from the ceiling. Then she comes back to the computer and sees he has a bloody shirt on. Which then makes her freak out and call the police. Which, I honestly feel she could have acted better. I feel like the plot was good and the angles and camera quality and plot were very good. But I felt she wasn't in enough distress. Like I somewhat felt a little anxious towards the end. Yet this really showed me that acting really plays a big part. like it was a good short but I felt that acting could have taken it from a 6 to an 8 because everything else was so good. But the main character the girl honestly ruined it for me. While there were some good parts. I learned that while the plot is important acting is too. While it was a good short I kind of felt like I was cringing. Which I feel is something you want to avoid entirely. Especially when it comes to a thriller and not something like a comedy where sometimes that is the desired effect. This shot was really too insightful. Like I more of learned angles. I also learned some of what not to do.
