Genre Research: Parasite
I watched this movie about a month ago with my family and we all loved it so much. This movie was so incredibly complex and unpredictable. It is honestly a masterpiece. I had a high expectation before watching. It won numerous awards, including the prestigious Oscar for The Best Film and The Best Director. I honestly believed the name of the movie was going to be more literal than figurative. I thought it was gonna be about a virus with parasites or something. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. We're trailing the Kim family that doesn't have a lot of money. The son in the family decides to work for the rich Park family by accident. He's teaching English to their daughter. The rest of the family now sees money-making potential, and they have a proposal to eliminate the rest of the workers who work for the rich Park family and then take the positions on their own. The dark comedy and suspense of this thriller made the director's vision perfectly executed. I wanted my final task to convey the amount of suspense and intensity that this movie had. It's a perfectly executed piece of art. To elevate the scenes and give them a unique style and significance, the majestic music and camera movement have been beautifully used. This movie's visual art style is purely magic. Some elements of the genre that did not appeal to me, was that it was sometimes hard to follow because of how unpredictable it was. So many undertones are explored and subtly depicted through the runtime of the movie. But the message was so powerful, there's honestly nothing about it that greatly doesn't appeal to me.
