Short Film (ALONE TIME)
ALONE TIME (Short Film - Thriller)
The plot is A young woman, stressed by her busy and continually crowded New York City existence spontaneously retreats to a solitary lake deep in the Adirondacks..One thing I love about this short film is how the woman wanted to spend time alone herself during her mini camping trip. But in fact, she was never alone... This is a brilliant plot with such an unexpected twist and the cinematics are absolutely amazing! This is a beautiful metaphor about how isolating and lonely it can feel to be human. In the opening scene, Ann is alone on a balcony, surrounded by the lights and noise of the city, and a room filled with people She's on the outside looking in and not an active participant. Even when she is physically near other people, their faces are shot out of focus from the neck down. When she trades her monotonous, grey life to escape to nature, everything is lush, green, and peaceful. The stark contrast between the city and the woods is tangible. She appears to be alone, one with nature, an active participant in her own life. But as her photos show at the conclusion of the film, she is not alone. Nobody is ever truly alone. It a short with almost no dialogue. Mainly produced on just like noise produced by the sets. Absolutely gorgeous set. It honestly from the beginning seemed very boring honestly. Lik the angles and the quirky are honestly so remarkable. Her going on the trip I guess in a sense changing her path was very interesting. But the BEST part of her looking through the photos from the trip and it is her like sleeping. It’s so unsettling and scary. Because that’s like a real thing that could happen. then it makes you think back to everyone she came in contact with.
