Deciding Our Short Films Genre
Looking over all our research we see a staggering difference in which way our pitch can go to. On one hand, we have the thriller and genre aspects that both put you in our main characters' headspace. You'd see how the character went on choosing the decisions she must now face. Or how she dealt with her struggles. As well as the toll it had on her mental health. Horror could add to it by making it a bit more intense. Maybe make her demons a bit more physical. Where she can almost see them. Make it so that she has to deal with them so often that she could really see them. Where they so mentally and emotionally drain her that the pain is physical. This is a good way to exemplify such a horrific reality. Our film will have a basic genre but its sub-genre will definitely contain some horror. We ended up deciding on a thriller again. We want to push our limits on our favorite genre. Our film will have one theme, but it will just have influences as well. Drama and horror elements playing a part in our thriller short film. This idea for our short film is very intricate. We're still not quite sure how we want it to play out. We do know that we want our film to have an ominous and uncertain tone. Exaggerating a reality in many people's lives.
