Commercial Creative Critical Reflection
Creative Critical Reflection
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
The main convention is the shoes we usually see skaters within the commercial. My social group is a skater. We also see people within vans within simple streetwear. The social issue vans are facing is being eco-friendly. They used green sole operations. Which overall helps stop climate change and triumph pollution. Also, the vans create a welcoming community for all. Overall vans effects are very universal within their products and how they're made.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product engages a younger generation. No just skateboarders but overall everyone that wears shoes. My commercial would most likely be distributed with online ads. More specifically on a platform such as youtube. Overall through apps like this, they store data so the ads are more selective so they would target my exact audience.
3.How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Overall I get a better feel of filming in general. While I also got better at editing. Clipchamp's wasn't so foreign to me because I've used it unlike my last project when I didn't. I definitely got better at editing overall. I know how to use more effect and glitter. Also cutting my clips for the video was much less complicated. I also go to the actual film which was hard because a lot of my shots very moving which made it pretty difficult to capture. All in all the more experience I got helped me now and will also help me through the class.
4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online – in this project?
Some technology we integrated was a camera. IClipchamp's for overall editing. I also used my iPhone to film. I also used my computer to edit and overall clip everything together. I also used sounds from Spotify. Which was my the music all through the video, "doomsday" by MF Doom. I also used google drive to upload my clips for my commercial.
